Sandwich Bread

Ingredients

2 cups Warm Water
1/2 cup Sugar
1 1/2 Tbsp Active Dry Yeast
1 1/2 tsp Salt
1/4 cup Vegetable Oil
5-6 cups Flour

Directions

  1. In mixing bowl, dissolve sugar in warm water then stir in yeast. Allow to proof until yeast is foamy.
  2. Mix salt and oil into the yeast.
  3. Mix in flour one cup at a time - go slowly after the 5th cup to get the right consistency (might not take all 6 cups).
  4. Knead dough for 7 minutes.
  5. Put dough in well oiled bowl and let rise until doubled in size.
  6. Punch dough down. Knead for 1 minute, divide in half, shape into loaves and place into well oiled 9x5 bread pans.
  7. Bake at 350° for 30-40 minutes. Keep an eye on it after 30 minutes.
